Build-Up Crew

About Us

Amigos is a community-driven surf camp for solo travelers who want more than just waves — they want connection, meaning, and the best week of their lives. Our guests are mostly early-to-mid-20s, lots of first-time female travelers, beginner surfers, and people who travel to feel something real.

Job Description

Before the waves roll in and guests arrive, there's magic happening behind the scenes. Our build-up team brings the camp to life — setting up tents, building decks, painting signs, and adding the small touches that make Amigos special.

You'll work alongside a passionate team to create the foundations of our summer home. Every hammer hit and screw turned helps shape the space where guests will share unforgettable moments.

What You'll Do:

  • Help assemble and maintain camp structures (tents, decks, and common areas)
  • Assist with logistics, storage, and general set-up tasks
  • Support our kitchen and maintenance team where needed
  • Bring a positive attitude and teamwork mindset every day

What You Bring:

  • Hands-on, can-do energy
  • Basic DIY or construction experience (bonus, not mandatory)
  • Willingness to learn, help, and adapt to whatever's needed
  • Team spirit — we build everything together

Life at Amigos

  • Accommodation: Shared staff tent with real mattress, bedding, and electricity.
  • Meals: Homemade breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
  • Vibes: Surf, community dinners, sunset beers, and new friendships.
  • Time Off: One day per week to rest or explore the coast.

It’s hard work — but deeply rewarding. You’ll leave with new friends, new skills, and the feeling of having built something real.

Benefits:

This position comes with a range of benefits designed to make your experience with us both enjoyable and fulfilling.

  • Accommodation: Embrace surf camp life inside a private Quechua tent in the staff camping zone. Your accommodation includes a proper mattress, bedframe, pillow, blanket, and bedding, along with access to electricity.
  • Meals: Enjoy homemade breakfast, lunch, and a delicious 3-course dinner every single day, prepared by our talented kitchen team. (Wednesday dinner isn’t a 3-course but it is provided for staff)
  • Surf Gear: Take advantage of our top of the range surfboards and wetsuits, available for your personal use, allowing you to fully embrace the surfing experience at Oyambre beach, a short 7 minute walk away.
  • Yoga Classes: If the daily yoga session slots aren’t full, you can put your name down and enjoy a free session with our yoga instructor.
  • Workshops: The team are more than welcome to join the Surf Theory class, hosted by the surf instructors, and the Nutrition Workshop, hosted by the chefs.
  • Time Off: Benefit from one day off per week, aligned with the kitchen team schedule, to explore the surroundings or simply relax and recharge.
