Nicaraguan Dream with Dani Serrano.

Last November I had the opportunity of sharing two months with my favourite architect, Dani Serrano. He invited me to his place in northern Nicaragua, quite into the wild but close enough to the best wave I ever surfed.

Dani bought this property 5 years ago while traveling around Central America, he felt completely in love with the community and the waves, I honestly think that he felt in love (as me) with the daily barrels for breakfast and the huge cold smoothie afterward at Pedro's.

After his architecture studies in Spain, Puerto Rico and Guatemala, he moved to Bali where he was nourished with knowledge about bamboo and more sustainable materials.

From Indonesia, he helped us a lot with the build-up of our surf camp and the design of our tents, always giving the professional advice that you need!

Our idea in Nicaragua was to create an epic place, an extension of Amigos Surf Project but with tropical vibes. Unfortunately, the political situation right now is not the most "stable", so our plans changed completely, Artur went to Costa Rica with our friend Fran, but Dani and I stayed working daily on his land, trying to make a home from a camper that he brought from Oregon, tucked into a big Nicaraguan rancho that he designed.

Freedom feels good, we spent our time surrounded by nature and his two dogs (Sol y Luna), reading our books on the hammocks of the terrace, doing sunrise yoga, eating well & healthy, scoring epic waves and doing what we wanted to do, whenever we wanted to do it.

Thanks for the good times, Nicaragua showed me again that life is not about rushing, because when you do it you don't pay attention anymore about the simple and beautiful things of normal living.
